The basis of the Codes series are black and white barcodes that are rotated from horizontal to vertical. These barcodes are titles of books that were influential or even formative in certain periods of the artist's life, translated into machine-readable binary sequences. The additional colors used attempt to convey the mood or atmosphere remembered from today's perspective.
Basis der Codes Serie sind schwarz weiße Strichcodes, die von horizontal auf vertikal gedreht sind. Diese Strichcodes sind in maschinell lesbare Binärabfolgen übersetzte Titel von Büchern, die in bestimmten Lebensabschnitten einflussreich bis hin zu prägend gewesen sind. Die außerdem verwendeten Farben rekapitulieren die damalige jeweilige Lesestimmung aus heutigem Rückblick.
